Artist's Statement
A collection of 'other-wordly' ceramics. The narrative around these marks the culmination of a journey from archaeology, abstract sculpture, drawing and an urge to 'create'.
We seek evidence of life on other planets by looking for biological markers or signs of advanced technology. However here on earth we have often tried to interpret the meaning of mysterious artefacts from long lost peoples (Scara Brae, Knossus, Mayans).
In 'Player of Games', Ian M Banks describes the self-destruction of a powerful empire, as witnessed by a visitor from a distant peace-loving galaxy.
These might be artefacts from such a place.
