Artist's Statement
I don’t set out with a concept or work to any formal painting process. I see the main colour and energetic movement of the piece in my mind’s eye and I give my hand the freedom it wants. I layer the acrylic paint onto canvas, blending and highlighting using different brush types, sizes and strokes, as well as with my hand. I find myself intuitively drawn to the colour I need to add to the canvas next and how that needs to integrate and flow.
Each painting goes through a number of iterations. I come and go from the canvas over weeks or months to allow it to develop, and I know when the painting feels finished. Each completed piece painting reflects part of me that I often can’t put words but yet know and understand intimately.
As a Reiki Master, I find the ability to express through energy and colour very moving. Painting makes me feel free in a way that nothing else does. Art is a powerful healing tool and I’m inspired to create “soul vision” artwork that makes people think and feel. I love how revealing and magical that abstract art can be for both the artist and the viewer.
INTERNATIONAL AWARDS & EXHIBITIONS
I am a recipient of the Collector’s Vision International Art Award and Power of Creativity Art Prize. Twelve of my paintings have been featured twenty-one times in international art competitions, shows and juried exhibitions. My work is also showcased in the KROMATIC ART Live Art Exhibition M.A.D.S. Gallery Milano, Italy 2021.
As well as my original paintings, I also sell limited-edition giclee prints of my awarded artwork and I offer commissions.
